Swirling Aparoids are defensive structures, appearing in the 10th and final Mission of "Assault".
Gameplay[]
When the Swirling Aparoid starts to appear onscreen, it will launch it's four energy tendrils and start propelling ring lasers at the Arwing. The best way to take the Swirling Aparoid out is to keep Barrel Rolling and firing away with charged lasers and/or rapid laser firepower, or Smart Bombs until the creature is fully eradicated.
In the game[]
Mission 10: Homeworld Core[]
Before reaching the Blade Barriers inside the outer lair of the Aparoid Queen, after passing the Morphing Ship Aparoid, one Swirling Aparoid will appear.
