Stringy Aparoids only appear Mission 5 in "Assault". Hence their name, they resemble floppy cords.
Gameplay[]
After passing the Morphing Ship Aparoid, there is a span of empty space, where the white stringy threads are twirling in one spot like a field of space mines. It is a good idea to shoot the strings down from a distance, because they can be a problem when they cluster around the Arwing and siphon off shielding if they latch on. Using barrel rolls can shrug them off.
