A Red GrubTub Fungus
Red GrubTub Fungi are cousins of the edible Blue GrubTub and White GrubTub Fungi. However, they are much larger and are not edible. This is because when any creature approaches them, the vile mushroom releases toxic spores. There are many of these all over Sauria. However, they thrive in ThornTail Hollow and the Ancient Well. If Fox inhales the spores produced by a Red GrubTub Fungus, he will lose one quarter of a heart.
It is likely that if one were to eat a Red GrubTub Fungus, he or she would become very ill.
Trivia
- Red GrubTub Fungi cannot bounce around to get away from predators. This is likely why they evolved toxic spores as a defense mechanism.
- Strangely, no Red GrubTub Fungi are seen during Star Fox Assault.
