Aparoid Spinners are Space Force Aparoids that appear in the 5th Mission of "Assault".

Gameplay

Spinners are stationary space fighter Aparoids that stay in one spot and launch spinning lasers at Fox's Arwing as he approaches them, hovering up and down to make shots harder to hit them. Some Spinning ships drop Special Flags, if Fox zaps the right one and manages to wait long enough for it to appear, so he can collect it.

In the game

Mission 5: Asteroid Belt

Spinners first appear in the Mission almost immediately after spotting the abandoned Wolfen and when Krystal detects the upcoming danger. Another wave of Spinners appear just before the field of Stringy Aparoids, where the topmost Spinner will drop the 1st Special Flag. Not long after the infected Winged Prototype and purple growth around the new constructing base, another wave of Spinners will spawn outside the base, where the Spinning ship on the left will drop the 4th Special Flag.
